Researching WWI and WWII internment camp-associated burials across Canada, with particular focus on the Spirit Lake Internment Camp Cemetery in Quebec. Considering the changes in the life history of these physical mortuary spaces, and how that ties into changing representation of ethnic identity and agency.

Thesis: Those Remembered & Forgotten: Sociocultural Impacts on the Persistence of Memory - Klondike Gold Rush, 1896-1900
An exploration of how inclusion in different sociocultural groups based on aspects such as age, sex, religion, ethnicity, and social status, combined with the unique nature and landscape of the Klondike Gold Rush, contributed to individuals being either forgotten or remembered after their death.

The formation of a database of individuals who died during the Klondike Gold Rush. The beginnings of understanding why we have no notion of how many individuals died throughout this, generally, well-recorded event, as well as contributing factors to this information being lost over time.

Assists with GPR surveying on various projects across Canada. Assembly and operation of several GPR machines, precise setup of gridded GPR units of variable size based on direction, consideration of the landscape and personal discretion, production of highly detailed grid and site maps tailored to the needs of each site, and accurate record keeping of information pertaining to each grid unit.
Works closely with associated community members, respecting and assisting in the execution of cultural protocols. Giving space to site visitors, listening to viewpoints, recollections, and trauma, and applying the knowledge received to the work.

Monashee Mountain Internment Camp | Cherryville, BC
Student volunteer for the excavation of a Canadian WWI internment camp. Acted as site photographer for the duration of the field school, maintained a daily blog recording our activities on-site and took charge of site mapping.
Pittencrieff Field School | Dunfermline, Scotland
Participated in the excavation and recording of gravemarkers that had been buried and/or naturally subsided over time within the Dunfernline Abbey kirkyard. Participated in artifact illustration and osteology workshops, collaborated with other volunteers to maintain a daily blog, participated in community archaeology both on-site and at the Celts are Coming festival held by The Scottish Crannog Centre and acted as site photographer for the duration of the field school.
Capilano Field School | North Vancouver, BC
Participated in the excavation and recording of a 20th-Century Japanese logging camp. Learned proper testing methods, site set-up, excavation, mapping and recording techniques, witnessed community archaeology in action and learned ways in which to engage and teach community members about our work, catalogued artifacts excavated over the course of the field school, and acted as site photographer for the duration of the field school.
